Unlike higher-end Porsche platforms that utilize dual high-pressure fuel pumps, the Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster rely on a single HPFP. As boost pressure, airflow, and ignition timing are increased, the factory fuel pump quickly reaches its operating limit—leading to fuel pressure drop, lean conditions, timing pull, and restricted tuning headroom.

Raggdoll Motorsports set up two dyno sessions for my Porsche Turbo S. The Porsche touts a 4.0-liter built engine and head work facilitated by Sam at ByDesign. Also has the XR ByDesign turbo kit with all the supporting mods. The first session the PDK kept transitioning out of manual mode. During the second session a boost leak at the throttle body boot ended the session early. We managed 812 hp on a Mustang dyno at only 20 psi of boost.
