Porsche 718 Cayman & Boxster B03G VGT Turbo Upgrade – The RaggDoll
⸻
High-flow B03G VGT turbocharger for Porsche 718 Cayman & Boxster 2.5 S and GTS
Built for owners who want to go beyond the already insane performance of the RS2, with a more aggressive character, anti-surge sound, and added headroom for serious builds.
⸻
What Is The RaggDoll Turbo?
First things first — The RaggDoll is NOT a replacement for the RS2.
The RS2 remains the best all-around turbocharger for the majority of Porsche 718 builds. It delivers lightning-fast spool, excellent drivability, and power levels that most owners will never fully tap into — especially on pump gas or lightly modified setups.
The RaggDoll exists above the RS2.
It is a higher-flow, more aggressive evolution designed for owners who want:
• More headroom beyond typical RS2 limits (700+ crank horsepower)
• Future upgrades such as ethanol, upgraded fueling, or built engines
• A sharper, more aggressive turbo character
• Everything turned up another notch — now or later
Because of the extensive internal machining and development, these upgrades could not simply be rolled into the RS2. Doing so would significantly increase cost and price the RS2 out of reach for most buyers.
⸻
Where Did The RaggDoll Come From?
The RaggDoll was born from the development of my personal Six-66 turbo, the record-setting unit on Farrah capable of approximately 900 crank horsepower.
While the Six-66 itself isn’t something I offer for sale, I was repeatedly asked whether a larger, more aggressive option would ever be available for customers.
Instead of jumping straight to an extreme setup, I took:
• Everything learned from the Six-66
• Refined it
• And applied those strategies directly to the RS2 platform
Think of it like this:
RS2 + Six-66 = The RaggDoll
Same wheels.
Same B03G VGT housings.
Same factory cartridge.
But with advanced internal flow work and strategies pulled directly from the Six-66 program.
⸻
What Turns an RS2 Into “The RaggDoll”?
• Anti-surge compressor housing
• Ceramic-coated turbine housing (improved heat retention & durability)
• Extensive internal flow and performance machining
• Proven internal strategies used to fully maximize the B03G VGT housing
To be crystal clear:
• The RS2 is not obsolete
• Same core architecture
• Same housings and wheels
The RaggDoll is simply the “Turbo S” version of the RS2.
⸻
Who Is The RaggDoll Turbo For?
This turbo is not required to make big power.
The RS2 is already a 700+ crank horsepower capable turbo that spools incredibly fast, drives beautifully, and delivers outstanding real-world performance.
The RaggDoll is for owners who:
• Want the sound and behavior of an anti-surge housing
• Are targeting 540+ wheel horsepower and beyond
• Plan to push the platform harder with ethanol or future upgrades
• Want a more aggressive, higher-flow turbo with a distinct personality
⸻
Why Isn’t Every RS2 Built Like This?
1. The Machine Work Is Significant
This isn’t light porting. It’s deep internal machining, development time, and refinement — the same level of work that allows the Six-66 to perform at its level. Applying this to every RS2 would price it out of reach for most owners.
2. Anti-Surge Isn’t for Everyone
This is not a sleeper turbo.
The anti-surge sound is loud, raw, and unmistakable.
Farrah sounds like something straight out of Mad Max at highway speeds — and that’s intentional.
If you’re running The RaggDoll, people know something serious is going on.
⸻
What Does the Anti-Surge Housing Do?
Think of it as a pressure-relief system for the turbocharger.
When the turbo is trying to make boost but the engine isn’t flowing enough air (low RPM, rolling into throttle, heavy load), the anti-surge housing allows some air to recirculate instead of crashing into a pressure wall.
This results in:
• Smoother, more stable boost delivery
• Improved boost control under load
• Reduced compressor stress
• Less hesitation or unstable surge behavior
And yes — it also produces the sharp, aggressive anti-surge sound that some people love and others don’t.
That’s by design.
⸻
The RS2 is still king for most builds.
Fast spool. Incredible drivability. Massive power potential.
The RaggDoll is for those who want to go further. 🏎🔥
More sound. More attitude. More headroom.
